Fun and laughter in learning. ‘I Love the bush’ is one of Greg Hastings’ best remembered children’s songs from the ‘Wandering In The Bush Show’. Combining hand actions with singing helps children to easily remember and sing back the chorus in just a few minutes. Songs from the show were written during school tours of 38 Aboriginal communities of N.W. Western Australia 1988 – 1993, Greg was shown how to play didgeridoo by a Kimberley elder in ’88. Never thinking to become a children’s entertainer, the children’s songs evolved into the ‘Wandering In The Bush Show’ and for over ten years, Greg Hastings and Linda Gillan toured schools and festivals worldwide, where the show was renowned by teachers, parents and children alike, as being one of the most entertaining and interactive shows to visit. Tour highlights include WOMAD UK (2006) school tours in Mauritius and Seychelles, sponsored by the Australian Embassy of Mauritius (2005/06) Linda and Greg are thrilled to bring the ‘Wandering In The Bush Show’ back to Fairbridge, where children of all ages are invited to experience the joy of community singing and participation, with fun and laughter for all the family.
