FolkWorld Inc. Appoints Stuart MacLeod as New General Manager

FolkWorld Inc., the driving force behind Western Australia?s beloved Fairbridge Festival, is pleased to announce Stuart MacLeod will be joining the team as the new General Manager.

?We are very excited by this new appointment and the wealth of experience Stuart brings to this newly created role,? says president Jane Aberdeen.

?The board, staff and membership of FolkWorld Inc.?are enthusiastic to build on the ongoing success of Fairbridge Festival established over the past 26 years since it started in 1992.

?While the event continues to grow every year, there is an opportunity to build on this success and to structure the organisation in a way that allows our dedicated team to continue delivering an exceptional festival for Western Australia.?

MacLeod has been an integral member of the Australian music scene for over 21 years, as founding member of Eskimo Joe since 1997, and for three years as the General Manager of radio station RTRFM between 2015-18. Stu is a husband, a father of twins, a passionate Dockers supporter, a massive nerd, a keen problem solver and a lover of music, art and creativity in all forms.

Aberdeen adds, ?Stuart has an appreciation of the fantastic work that many volunteers bring in realising Fairbridge Festival, and this combined with Stuart?s management skills will see FolkWorld Inc. go on to deliver many more years of wonderful music and experiences for our audiences.?

MacLeod will start at FolkWorld Inc. next month in what is a new role alongside long-serving General Manager Lyn (Woody) Shurman who will continue delivering Fairbridge Festival under the new title of Event Manager.
