Praaz
“Harmony in Diversity”: the latest project by PRAAZ focuses on bringing together a collective of established musicians of various styles and genres to play a unique blend of cross-cultural music.

The music is conceptualised and written by Praaz (Praashekh Borkar) who is predominantly an Indian Classical Sarod player with over 28 years of performance experience globally. He will be performing on an instrument he invented named the Esarod (a combination of the traditional Indian Sarod and an electric guitar) which helps in bringing to life, his vision of re-imagining Indian Classical music.Collaboration is at the heart of the ensemble’s work.
PRAAZ often performs alongside artists from Australia, India, and various international backgrounds, creating spaces where uncommon combinations of instruments, voices, and musical practices can meet. Its flexible format supports original compositions that merge Indian classical ragas with Western harmonic ideas, jazz improvisation, and global music influences. Instead of treating music as a stand-alone art form, PRAAZ frames it as a means of dialogue – an opportunity for shared exploration and respect between traditions. In this musical journey, listeners will get to experience a blend of multi-cultural sounds and instruments such as the Esarod, Tabla, Drums, Bass, Guitar, Keys, Vocals, Darbouka and many more all coming together creating Harmony in Diversity.
