Red’s Tribe
Reds Tribe is a powerhouse Perth eight‑piece igniting Jamaican ska, rocksteady and jazz with soaring vocals, a blazing horn trio and a rhythm section built for dancing—high‑energy, vintage‑authentic and guaranteed to light up any festival stage.

Reds Tribe is an eight piece Perth band dedicated to reviving the classic sounds of 1960s Jamaican ska, rocksteady, and jazz. Led by Stuart Ferguson, a founding member of the Melbourne Ska Orchestra, the group brings together top tier local musicians to authentically recreate first wave ska. Vocalists Leah Guelfi and Justin Gross channel icons like Phyllis Dillon, Dawn Penn, and Alton Ellis, with Justin also stepping in as a trombonist inspired by Don Drummond. The horn section delivers Skatalites style instrumentals, while the rhythm section—guitarist Andy Jarvis, drummer Matt Hanson, and bassist Kirrily Wong—anchors the band with genuine vintage grooves. Rounding out the lineup are keys player Mike Gowland and saxophonist Stuart Earl, both in-demand performers. Formed in 2023, Reds Tribe blends deep musicianship with a passion for Jamaican musical heritage, offering high energy performances that honour the genre’s roots.
